Modern Ashtanga Short Series

Join me for 48 minutes of Modern Ashtanga, a shortened series of challenging standing & seated postures.

My personal goal here is to drop out of my head and into my body and breath.

Modern Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga was created by K. Pattabhi Jois during the 20th century and consists of a series of poses executed in swift succession, followed by a series of poses in which each is held for 5-8 breath cycles. Movements are combined with deep, controlled breathing.

Traditionally, practitioners are encouraged to complete the identical series of postures up to 6 days a week. As a person who values variety (Enneagram 7), I enjoy a periodic Modern Ashtanga practice intermingled with other styles throughout the year.
